Supermodel Crystal Renn has talked about her past battle with anorexia, according to dailymail.co.uk.

The US supermodel spoke about how she ended up burning her diary, which she called her 'prayer book' when she was sixteen after being horrified at the disturbing entries she was writing in there. The 26-year-old claims that her battle with the condition began when she moved to New York at a young age to pursue her fashion dream.

Renn told stylist.co.uk: "When I first moved into a model apartment it was so loud with the girls laughing and chatting all the time. I actually started a prayer book about what I wanted to accomplish, how I saw my life."

She continued: "I got so upset once that I burned it. Now I'm at a place where I'd never do that, but I was so disturbed by what I was writing about that I freaked out and didn't want to own it."

Anorexia is known to affect many women in their teenage years, as this is a time when their bodies start to change and they feel more pressure to look good. If you think you or someone you know is suffering from the condition, it is best to visit a local GP, who could prescribe treatment such as a dietician or counselling courses.

Ms Renn released a book entitled 'Hungry' in 2010, which documented her battle with anorexia.
