Kesha has finished her 30-day stay in rehab where she sought help for her eating disorder.

The star checked herself into Illinois-based treatment centre Timberline Knolls for a month as she was suffering from both anorexia and bulimia.

Confirming this on her Twitter account on January 4, she tweeted, according to guardian.com: "I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder ... [and] to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am."

The 27-year-old has been back on the site this week to announce the end of her treatment. She wrote: "Happy to be back! Feeling healthy & working on tons of new music - I can't thank my fans enough for all the love & support u have given me."

Kesha has also changed her name - dropping the dollar sign, to signal her fresh start, according to ibtimes.com.

A number of tour dates were cancelled by the star when she entered rehab. However her track 'Timber' which she recorded with star Pitbull did reach the number one position in the UK official singles chart when she was undergoing treatment.

Fellow popstar Demi Lovato also sought help at Timberline Knolls back in 2010 suffering from eating disorders.
