CHRYSALIS ONLINE CERTIFICATE IN UNDERSTANDING PERSONALITY DISORDERS IN COUNSELLING

Chrysalis Online 4 Hour CPD courses are designed to provide you with valuable knowledge and skills in addition to your core therapy training.

These each provide four hours of recognised CPD. You will work through the online course on Moodle (our learning platform) in your own time.

You will receive a digital certificate upon course completion.

This 4 hour CPD Online Course in Understanding Personality Disorders in Counselling explores the current DSM-5 and ICD-11 descriptions of personality disorders and how they can help the counsellor understand and identify mild, moderate and severe presentations. Approaches are explored to help counsellors support the client and apply some useful DBT techniques. Individual reflection, multiple-choice questions, case conceptualisation and guided learning provides a supportive and interactive approach for the course.

Learning Outcomes:

1. To introduce the Personality Disorders and presenting symptomology
2. To introduce the DSM-5 framework
3. To introduce the ICD-11 framework and compare the two frameworks
4. To look at some DBT approaches and create a case formulation profile
