Peter Banes

Peter is a person-centred counsellor living in North Essex. He initially completed his training with Chrysalis several years ago earning his Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. Peter has had a lifelong interest in mental health and having completed his initial training has continued to improve and update his skills through multiple training providers.

Since qualifying Peter has worked with one of the UK’s leading mental health charities as well as a number of private organisations and the NHS. One of Peter’s greatest achievements in recent years was to have been part of a team specialising in mental health within the field of individuals with ASD and ADHD. Peter has also worked within the education sector working with secondary and primary schools as a counsellor. Peter is also part of the experiential counselling for depression team.

Although initially qualified in working with adults Peter made the choice to improve his training to include working with children and has extended his training to include safeguarding training as well as training on Autism and communication skills.
