As an Integrative Psychotherapist Liz is able to draw on techniques from a number of different approaches to personalise client’s therapy in accordance with their explicit and implicit personal needs. These approaches include CBT, Psychodynamic, Person Centred Therapy and mindfulness. Liz has been a therapist in a medium secure forensic environment for 28 years.
During this time has worked extensively with emotionally unstable personality disorders, schizo-affective disorders, autistic spectrum disorder, progressive neurological disorders and eating disorders.
Liz has also had the opportunity to work with the Parliamentary Youth Select Committee 2017 in her role as a body Image Therapist and has given her the opportunity to become proactive in the enquiry on Body Image and its impact on our children and young people. She is currently involved with the Parliamentary Policies office working on the proposals put forward by the Youth Select Committee 2017 to implement new policies on “A Body Confident Future”.
Liz has recently featured in the BBC documentary - Jesy Nelson; 'Odd One Out' She worked with Jesy in relation to her mental health as a result of cyberbullies.
