Duncan Ellison

Following a two decade career in media, broadcasting and live events, Duncan retrained, graduating with a level five in therapeutic counselling. He has since added a diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a diploma in counselling tutoring to his qualifications.

Duncan is a founding director of Active Listening Therapies, a counselling practice located in Newark on Trent. As well as working with adult clients, Duncan has written dedicated framework agreements for the provision of Tier II counselling, within three academy schools, for children aged between 11 and 19.

As a tutor, he is familiar with NCS educational standards and has experience delivering Level 1 to Level 4 counselling courses, as well as CPD short courses with a therapeutic, compliance and business focus for experienced practitioners. In a school environment Duncan delivers mental health drop-in’s for years 7 to 13.

Duncan is looking forward to sharing his experience and knowledge, while fostering positive and insightful debate within his classes.
