Chrissy Jayne originally trained as an Anger Management Practitioner with Mike Fisher at the British Association of Anger Management in 2010. It was from this experience that she decided to qualify as a counsellor but had to pause her studies 2011 through 2016. She finally graduated as a counsellor in 2018 following two years of study with Chrysalis. She completed a postgraduate foundation certificate in Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity therapy with Pink Therapy in 2018.

Following her qualification in 2018 she moved from Essex to South Cumbria and started work in her private practice 'Therapies for Life Counselling'. Here she focuses on offering queer folk affirmative and affordable therapy working with both local clients face-to-face and online with clients from across the country. Despite coming to counselling quite late in life she has been able to establish a network of connections with a number of senior professionals within the gender healthcare sector and she still expresses her surprise with the people she finds who are part of her professional life now. As well as her private practice work, Chrissy Jayne also works for the Outreach Cumbria Talk It Out Therapy Service providing free therapy sessions both face-to-face and online to queer folk and their families throughout Cumbria as well as working within the IAPT sector for Xyla Digital Therapies working online with clients from all over the country.

Being such a late arrival to the therapy profession, she brings a wealth of life experience having worked both in shop floor and management positions over the past 40 years in the leisure, care and logistics sectors. That also includes some 20 years as an HGV night driver throughout the UK as well as time spent on work placement in the Netherlands and some months in 2004 driving intercontinental trucks ('big rigs') across North America.

Chrissy Jayne is an Accredited Registrant member of National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. To view Chrissy Jayne's NCPS profile please click here.
